Despite several setbacks, Ann Arbor development remains strong

Joseph Freed and Associates is sucessfully moving forward with several new downtown commercial and residential Ann Arbor projects, especially Ashley Terrace.

Once dubbed Citi Center Lofts and planned for condominium fame, the student housing apartments at the corner of Washington and South Division will now be called 4Eleven Lofts.  The project began with a demolition of a building on site this summer.  4Eleven Lofts will be marketed as upscale student rental housing.

JFA reports sales are slow but not at all disappointing.  Ashley Terrace, located at the corner of Ashley and Huron Streets, is slated to open by the end of 2007.

Retail is planned for the first floor with offices on the second and 99 condos above. So far about 60 units have been sold and interior upgrades are being planned.  Flagstar Bank is the only committed retailer to date.

Glen Ann Place will also hopefully soon be underway.  Located on the west side of Glen Avenue between Ann and Catherine Streets, Glen Ann Place is slated to become apartments or condominiums with a first floor of retail.  This project has been tied up in a lawsuit with the city of Ann Arbor for two years.  Settlement is expected by the end of the year.

Look to 2008 for a new Ann Arbor street scape!  Look for Ann Arbor Condos.
