25TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY ART & CRAFT FESTIVAL
The Ann Arbor City Club is hosting its 25th Annual Holiday Art & Craft Festival. There will be over 50 juried exhibitors from Michigan in attendance. For more information, please contact us by phone or email.

HOLIDAY PARADE IN SALINE
Enjoy this holiday favorite. Parade will feature floats, bands, baton twirlers, dancers, animals, music, candy, and Santa arriving in his sleigh. Following the parade, children can go to Santa’s Village at Beanstalks play cafe to have their photo taken with Santa and receive a bag of goodies. Sponsored by the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Saline.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
This is a great time to make those special gifts or to get your holiday creativity rolling. The CCA will provide several activities to choose from, where participants can create their own work of art. Open to all ages. Bring the whole family! Glass artist Karen Smith will also be onsite to show you how to make wonderful fused glass ornaments. Round and diamond shaped glass embellished with stingers and beads then fused will make a great gift! It’s a great way to slow down a bit and enjoy the day, or to create beautiful hand-made gifts for your loved ones.

SING-ALONG WITH SANTA
The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra has a special relationship with Santa. Each year he sleds in from the North Pole to meet with the children of Ann Arbor at the A²SO Sing-Along. He loves to see the youngsters and sing with them in all his favorite carols. This event will include music by an A²SO soloist, treats and photos with the big guy!

FIDDLERS RESTRUNG’S HOLIDAY HOMETOWN CONCERT IN SUPPORT OF TOYS FOR TOTS
Fiddlers ReStrung Holiday Hometown Concert in Support of Toys for Tots is a new Saline Tradition. The concert will be a collage of local community talent. Fiddlers ReStrung is a group of talented high school students dedicated to preserving fiddle music. The group plays, sings and dances to traditional folk, bluegrass and Celtic music. Their mission is to serve the community and encourage the positive qualities of young adults. The organization is officially sponsored and supported by Salin.

This holiday concert will be a collage of local community talent to support the Toys For Tots Program. Opening performances include Saline Area School’s 6th Grade Fiddle Club, as well as the 7th and 8th Grade Fiddle Club. Also performing on stage will be select members of the Saline High School Choir and Saline High School Band.

TREASURE TRAIL TO SANTA
Starting at Carol’s Hallmark Shop, kids go on a treasure trail through the shops at Busch’s Plaza to find Santa. Horse-drawn carriage rides, photos with Santa, a stilt-walking juggler, musical groups, and merchant favors.

THE NUTCRACKER BALLETT
The Youth Dance Theatre of Michigan (YDT) dancers invite you to enjoy their annual holiday rendition of the beloved Nutcraker Ballet. Set to the music of Tchaikovsky, interpreted by Artistic Director, Wendi DuBois and performed by over 50 area dancers ages 8-18; the Nutcracker Ballet is sure to add magic to your holiday season. YDT invites you to make the YDT Nutcracker Ballet a tradition in your family! Tickets available in early November.

Above was a sampling of Christmas related activities occurring in our community during the month of December. There were over 65 different things to do in the Ann Arbor area this month, some holiday themed, some not.
