Here in Ann Arbor the University of Michigan is part of life in the city and is integrated within much of what makes Ann Arbor the city that residents know and love. It is one of the largest employers in the area and within it is the University of Michigan Health System which is one of the top 10 health systems in the country. Founded as the University of Michigan Medical School in 1850 it took its current name in 1997 this vast health system contains numerous hospitals, over 120 outpatient clinics, 40 health centers as well as schools of nursing and more! The health system is so well know due to its integration with the University of Michigan Medical School.

Located in the heart of Ann Arbor the Medical Center is at the forefront of medical developments, research, patient care and more. It is also within walking distance to downtown Ann Arbor and more.

This campus contains the UM Medical School, which was founded in 1848 as the Department of Medicine and opened to students in 1850. As well as the main hospital, children’s hospital, cancer center, allergy clinics and more. The center is constantly changing and upgrading its facilities making it one of the most advanced health centers in the world.
