So who doesn’t like a little shopping from time to time?!
Often when people choose to relocate to an area they like to know the local shopping options – here in Ann Arbor asides from boutiques and strip malls we have Briarwood Mall which is the largest indoor mall in Ann Arbor with a 1 floor, 1 million square feet of shopping space. The anchor stores at the Briarwood Mall include: Macy’s, Sears, Von Maur, and JCPenney’s. There are also over 120+ other stores at Briarwood including Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Williams Sonoma, Chico’s and much, much more!
Despite being constructed in 1973 by the Taubman Corporation, the mall is constantly changing and growing. In 2003 it received a $7 million update which included revamping the food court. In 2007 control of Briarwood Mall was gained by Simon Properties.
The mall is interactive, with its own facebook and twitter page!
Briarwood Mall is surrounded by many other office and commercial properties and some of the housing complexes nearby pride themselves on their proximity to the mall.
It really is the primary shopping mall for all of Washtenaw County.

Ann Arbor offers great access to the expressway to get to Detroit or beyond quickly. A hop skip and a jump away is Zingerman’s Deli, Kerrytown, Kerrytown Farmers Market, U of M campus, Medical Center and University of Michigan football games. Drive toVeteran’s Park for figure or hockey skating, baseball, sledding, swimming, or enjoy fresh produce at Plum Market. For some specialty items be sure to visit nearby Morgan and York with video. Ann Arbor is a great place to live – convenient for all, including the Detroit metro airport, which is around 30 minutes away!
