Ann Arbor’s Plum Market Is a Great Stop for Wine and Groceries

Plum market is where I buy organic soap with citrus, fresh sushi, lots of fresh produce, green machine naked juice and a bottle of wine or two.  For that, I depend on Rod Johnson, Wine and Beer Team Leader.  He knows his wines and can introduce you to the cold cellar where some special wines are housed.   He is a great resource.

No detail is overlooked at Plum where Matt and Marc Jonna have set out to provide a grocery experience like no other.  Their product selections mix the best in natural, organic, specialty and local products.  Their produce department is a perfect example of their craft.  Freshness and quality are an absolute must and locally grown Michigan product are always highlighted.  As soon as something comes into season, you’ll find the freshest and the best version at Plum Market.  Their meats and artisan cheeses are also to die for – not to mention the bakery case full of fresh pastries!

Rod’s wine cellar is truly exceptional, he was nice enough to provide wines to the  Womens’ Council of REALTORS meeting hosted at Liberty Title recently.  Take a look at our pictures below.

Annual Washtenaw Community College Foundation Women’s Council Luncheon

May 23rd, 2008 admin Posted in Women's Council 1 Comment »

Attendees Honor Community Givers

I support the Women’s Council and attended this year’s luncheon.   The event was filled with inspiration, promise and honor.  The honorees have each made a difference in our community.  You have heard the starfish story.  A man walks by a little boy on the beach who is throwing starfish back into the ocean.  The man said, “You can’t make a difference by doing that.”  As the boy threw one more back into the ocean, he replied, “I made a difference for that one.”   These women quietly contribute to our area.

Briefly Introduced and Pictured in the Video are honorees this year:

Johnnie Bass, Program Director at the Salvation Army Staples Family Center in Ann Arbor.
Lois Baru, Univesity of Michigan Museum of Art Friends Board Member who raised funds to help Ypsilanti drama students perform in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Ginny Johansen, Participant in Motor Meals, Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army of Washtenaw County, Wilmot House, and WCC Foundation.

The guest speaker Karin M Muraszko, MD spoke about her life.  She is chair of the Department of Neorosurgery at University of Michigan.  Her journey is inspiring and her role at the University of Michigan is incredible as the first women to chair an academic neurosurgical department in the United States.  The event was held at the Morris Lawrence building on campus. I was able to network with many Greenhills contributors and look forward to continued future support.  For information on how to contribute or be involved, visit www.wccnet.edu/foundation.
