McKinley Towne Center Expansion
The McKinley Towne Center is growing to fit retail needs
McKinley INC started the McKinley Towne Center with the acquisition of one building - the expansion and growth of the project has now covered almost one whole city block. Phase II on the project (including more retail and multi-family development) is now about to begin. Google, restaurant Bar Louie, and Detroit law firm Bodman LLP filled major spaces in the Phase I office component. Phase II will most likely entice even more such retail tenants.
The McKinley Towne Center is unique in that it draws business to fill office space and students to keep retail shops thriving. this is because of its unique location touching both bases. In Phase II the old headquarters for Borders Group Inc will be converted into a two-story building with first floor retail and second floor offices. McKinley has the option to expand the project even further by purchasing two retail buildings along Liberty Street. Towne Center office space is offered at a premium averaging about $30/sqft.
